WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER?
Anybody who builds models can enter. You do not need to be a member of any modelling club.

WHAT MODELS CAN BE ENTERED?
You can enter any model that you have built from a plastic kit, provided that it meets the competition rules printed on this leaflet. There will be a category for your model whatever it may be. There are also special categories for Figures, Civil Vehicles and Scratchbuilts which may be built from materials other than plastic.

ARE THERE CATEGORIES FOR THE LESS EXPERIENCED AND JUNIOR MODELLER?
Yes, the Out-of-Box (OOB) categories are intended to encourage the greatest possible participation of the less experienced modeller. OOB category models will therefore not have to compete with the superdetailed models entered in the Enhanced (ENH), Modified (MOD) or OPEN categories.
There is a junior and intermediate competition. If you are under 13 or under 18 on 1 June 2008, you are eligible to enter any of the 4 junior categories or 7 intermediate categories listed.

HOW DO I ENTER?
Simply bring your models to the Sandown Entertainment Centre, Sandown Racecourse, Princes Highway, Springvale at the following times:

Friday 28 June 2008, 6pm - 9pm

Saturday 29 June 2008, 9am to 12 noon

ARE THERE ANY TROPHIES?
Category winners and placegetters receive a trophy in the Senior and Intermediate divisions and a model kit in the Junior division. Commended Certificates and Encouragement Awards are given. Each entry receives a Model Expo Certificate. Special awards are also given, see Competition Categories. Winners will be announced and awards presented from 4pm on Sunday, 29 June 2008.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE TO SEE ?
Australian Importers and distributors of plastic kits and other allied accessories will be participating in a trade display. Products will be on sale from the retail stands. They will be showing their latest products and will be happy to discuss the latest developments in modelling. In addition, a number of modelling clubs will be having displays and demonstrations and they will be interested in sharing their enthusiasm for their hobby with you. You are also able to see demonstrations of modelling techniques such as Resin Casting, Airbrushing and others.

Plus you get to meet other modellers and have a chance to chat and exchange tips and ideas.
